LANCASTER COUNTY ORTHOPHOTO
Challenge
International mapping firm Triathlon, Inc. had been selected to produce updated orthophotography of the entire County of Lancaster , and they needed a local surveying firm to provide reliable, highly accurate photogrammetric control surveying.
Solution
With an office in Lancaster County and prior experience completing photogrammetric control within Lancaster for other mapping firms, HRG was the natural choice to complete this assignment.

Because we are a local firm, we were able to mobilize a survey crew and establish the coordinates and elevations of 16 control points within just two weeks from the notice to proceed. This included establishing the ground control targets throughout the county, conducting a static GPS network survey, and performing the necessary adjustment computations.
Once the county-wide mapping was complete, HRG again teamed with Triathlon to control their lower altitude flight of the City of Lancaster. This work, which required the targeting and surveying of 14 additional ground control points, was turned around to Triathlon in just seven business days. |
