HRG has hired Samer H. Petro, P.E., as an Office Manager/Structures Senior Project Manager in the Morgantown, West Virginia office. In this capacity, he will manage projects across the Mid-Atlantic Region and West Virginia to meet an increasing demand for structural services. Petro brings 20 years of proven experience in project management of various engineering activities ranging from location studies and analyses of alternative structures and roadways to final design of new structures and new highways; removal, replacement, and rehabilitation of existing structures, water and wastewater treatment facilities; and construction-phase services to the HRG team. He most recently served as WV Operations Manager and Senior Project Manager for a national consulting engineering firm. Samer’s experience and expertise also includes strengthening historic and existing structures using fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials and nondestructive testing methods for highway bridges and transportation related structures. Petro earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from West Virginia University. He is a licensed professional engineer in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio and is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Association for Bridge Construction and Design, and American Concrete Institute. “The addition of Samer will further expand our services in West Virginia,” stated James Lopresti, P.E., Vice President of HRG’s Western Region. “He has a depth of knowledge that is unparalleled and a proven track record of building strong relationships with clients.
