What is a typical day at HRG like for you?
A typical day at HRG starts with a good morning greeting from all of my co-workers. Then I jump into my latest work assignment. Assignments are always different and keep me busy. They range from creating formal proposals to visiting a work site and meeting with clients.

What brought you to HRG?
There were a couple reasons that brought me here. HRG is recognized as one of the best engineering firms in Pennsylvania, and I wanted to have the opportunity to work with the best. Another reason was the people. Although I was very nervous for my interview, it was the attitude of my co-workers that calmed me. Also the location, it is nice to work on projects that help the community I live in.

What has been your favorite project so far, and what responsibilities did you have on this project?
My favorite project I worked on so far was working with the local Regional Sewer Authority. One of my responsibilities was to attend meetings where the project was fully discussed. Another responsibility was to  research as much information that I could to help add more information to the existing project. I also conducted a phone survey, calling other wastewater treatment facilities and asking each of the facilities several questions pertaining to the project.

What do you like best about your job?
The work environment.  Working for HRG is extremely rewarding. I learn something new every day. My co-workers are always willing to help me out and get me involved in projects. I also love the experience I am gaining. It is great to see how the office works and see a project from start to finish.

What skills have you gained since you began working at HRG?
Since I have been working for HRG,  I have gained many useful skills that I can use to further my career. Working for HRG gets you involved in every aspect of the engineering world that classes at school tend to leave out. Learning how to interact with clients is a very important skill I have learned working at HRG. Clients that have worked with HRG in the past have come back for more services because of the relationships HRG holds with clients.

In which areas do you wish to grow?
I would like to gain more knowledge of all the areas of civil engineering, but particularly the environmental area. It is becoming more evident everyday that we need to help the environment, and, as an engineer, I would like to help as much as I can.

What would you tell upcoming graduates is the best reason to work for HRG?
Working for HRG will give you the best experience in the engineering world. You will learn everything you need to know as an engineer. HRG has a great atmosphere; co-workers are very welcoming and are willing to help anytime. If you are looking for a great job opportunity, working for HRG is the place for you.
