Professionalism. Service to our clients and our community. Integrity. Commitment to advancing skills. Quality. These are the values that define the culture at HRG and the experience of working here.
Professionalism
HRG conducts itself ethically and represents our clients respectfully when dealing with the community, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Service to our clients and our community.
We see our jobs as more than delivering design plans and reports. We strive to understand our clients’ businesses and deliver solutions tailored to their unique needs. We seek to build relationships with our clients before the job is begun, so we know their needs well before pen hits paper, and we maintain those relationships long after the final payment is received. To us, service means becoming a part of our clients’ business and helping it grow.
We also believe in giving back to our communities through charitable involvement and pro bono delivery of services. As a corporation, we support many charitable organizations (some of which are listed on our Responsible Corporate Citizenship page), but our employees also make a difference in their neighborhoods through involvement with organizations close to their hearts.
Integrity
HRG and our employees place a high value on honesty and trust. We meet our commitments and deliver on our word – whatever it takes to do so.
Commitment to Advancing Skills
HRG employees strive to continually advance their skills by staying informed about changing regulations, learning about new and innovative techniques, and earning advanced certifications. They do so as part of their commitment to superior client service, and HRG rewards this commitment with financial assistance for training, compensation/bonuses, and opportunities for career advancement. (See more on our Benefits page.)
Quality
As engineers, we are detail-oriented by nature, and we quality check every detail of the products we produce in order to provide the highest level of quality to our clients. We strive to provide our clients with the highest quality end product and the highest quality client service they can obtain in the industry.
We are serious about the business of engineering, but we also believe in making our work enjoyable. We incorporate a variety of social activities into our workplace:
Annual Gettysburg Chamber Mixer
Every August, the Gettysburg office co-sponsors the monthly chamber mixer with a tropical theme and outdoor barbecue. A dunk tank, silent auction and small games of chance help raise money for a local charity, selected by the sponsor committee each year.
Lunchtime Gatherings
Every other Friday throughout the summer, employees in the Lancaster office come together for a picnic lunch as a way to celebrate another successful work week and prepare for the coming weekend. Working together in teams to prepare the food, employees are treated to a bounty of barbecue favorites like hamburgers and hot dogs as well as homemade salads and desserts.
Employees in the State College office, Stroudsburg office, and Harrisburg office also have similar lunchtime gatherings.
Softball Team
From May through August, a group of employees from the Harrisburg office participate in a local co-ed softball league. Even those employees who don't play on the team are a part of the fun when they come out to cheer for their co-workers and cook them a barbecue dinner.
Holiday Party
Each November, employees come in from all over the state to celebrate the holiday season in Harrisburg. Events include a social hour, dancing, pool, and video games. A buffet dinner is also served.
But not all employee get-togethers are strictly fun and games. HRG also comes together to give back to our community, and a sample of these efforts can be found on our Community Service page. |
